The Museum's Board of Directors, led by the Executive Director are active participants in the airport community and are currently discussing future plans and a world-class mandate for the Museum in light of the new Winnipeg terminal construction.

The spirit of adventure and innovation that has characterized aviation from its beginnings 100 years ago will be the overriding theme behind the Museum's exhibits, programming and marketing efforts over the next three years. This will allow a broader mind-set in finding and displaying exhibits, creating events and reasons for people to come to the Museum.

The focus will be placed on the unique and historic significance of pioneer aviators and the contribution of aviation to the development of Canada.

The Museum experience:

One of the country's most extensive collections of aviation artifacts and aircraft.

One of the most extensive aviation archives/libraries in Canada.

One of the most significant bush plane collections in the world.

A historically significant aviation building.

The depth and breadth of volunteer experience dedicated to recovery, restoration and research.

The contribution of bush pilots, inventors, aviators and planes to the development of the north west of Canada - bravery, exploration and innovation in the face of adversity.

The science of flight.
